Requirements for
Venturers and Explorers

PLEASE NOTE: BSA has reduced their emphasis on this program, but has not discontinued it completely. The patch is still being produced, but some Scout Shops™ may not routinely stock the patch. To avoid disappointing Scouts, CHECK FIRST to see if any are available in your area before promoting this program and patch.

Phase I

Choose and complete an activity from the suggested list of individual and group activities (see Crime Prevention Guidelines for Venturers and Explorers), or develop one that may be more appropriate for your family of community.

Phase II

Participate with your crew, ship, or post in a crime prevention project. (See the suggestions under Crime Prevention Guidelines for Venturers and Explorers). If your crew, ship, or post does not do a project, you may choose to participate in a group activity with your family, friends, neighborhood, or community.
